Choosing the Right Car Seat for Your Toddler
Forward-facing child vests or seats (including convertible seats placed in a forward-facing position) are for children over age 1 and 20 pounds. These products have various weight and height limits. Be sure to read the label and instructions. Some seats convert from a toddler-type seat with a harness to a belt-positioning booster. Others are built into the vehicle seat. To best protect your child, keep him in a full harness until he weighs at least 40 pounds.
